Family Education
Or Shalom places an emphasis on family education. Committee members attend CAJE seminars to bring back the latest concepts on this topic.
Some of the programs that are currently in place include:
- Class Shabbat dinners
- Together for Shabbat (families take turns celebrating the Friday night Seder at each other's home, and sharing their favorite traditions)
- Family Havdalah services
- Story tellers
- Participation by parents and grandparents in school celebrations and special events
- Learners' minyan on Sunday mornings
